Beech Hanger boarding house is used by the School in term time for girls boarding but can be let out in the holidays for groups of either gender or mixed.
Made up of 45 bedrooms in total where 26 of those bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms the set up allows67 beds as standard.
Should you require further beds there are certain
bedrooms which can have additional hire beds added to them to increase the bed capacity up to 87maximum.
Beech Hanger is privileged to have some incredible social spaces including a central “Hogwarts” style dining hall with a fully equipped modern kitchen just off it and a large lounge with plenty of sofas and a baby grand piano for entertaining.
Our boarding houses are available to hire in the Easter and summer school holidays. Occasionally we will hire them out in the October half term which is two weeks long but only in exceptional circumstances.
Yes it is possible to allocate separate areas within Beech Hanger house so genders can be separated however they are not access controlled like in the Main House.
Unfortunately coaches are not able to drive up to the Beech Hanger front door as there is no turning circle. Mini buses are OK. If you have a large coach this will need to be parked in the allocated coach area at the main school and guests can then walk 5 minute from there to Beech Hanger house.
Unfortunately as this is a fire escape route we are unable to lock off the kitchen. We can however isolate the ovens and high risk cooking items if you would like.
All our meals that are included in the Full Board are served in the refectory at the Main School and cannot be served in the House.
Yes there are a small number of parking spaces for cars at Beech Hanger.
If you book Beech Hanger this is done on an exclusive basis. Please note that there are three self contained flats within the house which are allocated School staff accommodation however they do not come into the House. They each have their own entrance/exits. The residents are permanent staff, employed by the school and are fully DBS checked and cleared to be on site.
As a general rule of thumb we do not allow self catered groups as the kitchen facilities in Beech Hanger were not designed to cater for large groups but for small individuals who want to cook ad hoc meals for themselves while they are staying.
